Tableware

Tableware

Thrown on the wheel, designed to be comforting yet beautiful table ware. All items are fired to cone 6 (2232 to 2291°F) in oxidation and made from 98 - 99% vitrified porcelaneous stoneware clay, so most pieces are oven, microwave and dishwasher safe.

Pierced / Cut / Carved

Pierced / Cut / Carved

These pieces are either wheel thrown or hand built, and when they are partially dry, are further manipulated, pierced (holes), cut, or have images carved into them to add to their complexity and beauty.

Vases

Vases

These may be thrown or hand built, may have decorative clay added or be simply left unadorned. All are waterproof and will not stain table tops, although it is probably a good idea to place a coaster or felt under them to protect the table surface.

Teapots

Teapots

Most of the teapots are two handled, for hand and wrist comfort during pouring. The lid is made with a deep inset to prevent it slipping out.

Garden

Garden

Items vary with inspiration. Large mushrooms are usually available and sometimes they have faces - for obvious reasons, called facial fungi. Castles, houses, mud gremlins, gnomes, elves and more frequently find their way into the studio and garden.

Masks

Masks

Found everywhere - in the studio, garden, woods, and sometimes just glaring up from the soil beneath your feet. Some have names, some don't. All have a message to convey, but teasing it out of them takes patience. But beware - they'll be watching you.
